Become a Volunteer Radio Group (VRG) member
Tuesday night is work night at the Diefenbunker and we are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join the Volunteer Radio Group and help with operating, maintaining and upgrading VE3CWM. While you need to be a licensed amateur operator to operate the station you don’t need a radio license to help out.
While most of our operating is done during the Tuesday evening work sessions, licensed volunteers are welcome and encouraged to come to the Museum during visitor hours to operate VE3CWM and chat with interested visitors.
VRG members are encouraged to also become members of the Diefenbunker Amateur Radio Club (DARC). A current Radio Amateurs of Canada, (RAC) membership is the only requirement.
Volunteer activities are not limited to radios. There are often projects around the Museum that require an extra set of hand and you are encouraged to get involved where you can.
